Founders

Leanna Lo is a senior at Northwood High School and is excited to lead SciConnect. She was a captain for Sierra Vista SciOly in the 2022-2023 season, and is currently the Northwood SciOly program president. She competes mainly in physics, inquiry, and engineering events, earning over 220 medals, including nearly 80 gold and 5 national medals. In her free time, you can catch her making a million matchas and playing Candy Crush.

Leanna Lo

Gordon Wong is a senior at Troy High School and an assistant coach for Sierra Vista since 2024. He has participated in Science Olympiad for 6 years amassing 250 medals and also participated in USESO camp twice. His main passions in science include the physical sciences, especially fields among geophysics like oceanography and meteorology. In his free time he enjoys lockpicking and solving random integrals!

Gordon Wong

Jeremy Lee is a sophomore at OCSA. He has competed in SciOly for three years and won nearly 150 medals spanning 19 events. Two-year team captain and AIME qualifier, he specializes in inquiry events. He plays cello and piano, also composing music for orchestra. He currently has 16k Clash Royale trophies across two accounts and 35k brawl stars trophies, his greatest achievement yet.

Andrew Zhang is a senior at Portola High School and has been competing in Science Olympiad for 5 years now. Academically, he focuses on STEM and is a full stack developer. Outside of school, he runs a freelance photography business in Southern California. A fun fact about him is that he's fluent in FL Studio and DJ software. He is responsible for the back-end routing, front-end coding, and web hosting solutions.

Lydia Lo is a sophomore at Northwood High School and is stoked to be a part of SciConnect! She was on Sierra Vista’s National team from 7th–9th grade, serving as their 2025 championship captain and earning over 180 medals total. Now Sierra Vista’s Assistant Coach and a Northwood SciOly competitor, she specializes in environmental science and inquiry events. A fun fact about her is that she is obsessed with pink and unicorns. Lydia is responsible for content, website, and instructor management.

Anthony Tatsuta is a junior in the Film and Television Conservatory at OCSA. At school, he focuses on STEM subjects, math and chemistry namely, as well as being a Cinematographer and Video Editor in conservatory. He was on OSCA's Division B SciOly team, and outside of school, his main hobbies are competitive soccer and VEX Robotics. A fun fact about him is that he enjoys consistently beating Jeremy and his friend in a Minecraft 1v2. He is responsible for animation, photography, and videography.

Emma Chen is a freshman at Northwood High School and is honored to teach in Scioconnect. She is a Captain for Sierra Vista Scioly for the 2025-2026 season and was a National medalist for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons. Her main interests lie in biology and chemistry, thus she competes in related events, like Crime Busters, Potions and Poisons, and a few other inquiry events. Besides her passion for science, Emma also enjoys playing the cello in orchestras and small ensembles.

Hi my name is Clarissa! I did one year of Science Olympiad at OCSA, doing Crime Busters, EXPD, and CJAP. I play the cello in the Instrumental Music Strings and Orchestra Conservatory.

Carson Lv is a sophomore currently attending and competing for Northwood High School. He is a former captain of Sierra Vista's Scioly Program and current Assistant Coach for the team. He has earned upward of 180 medals in his time competing. Furthermore, he has done builds, inquiries, physics, and earth science events during his time competing, with his favorite being Road Scholar. During his free time, he enjoys watching and playing baseball while occasionally hopping on a video game or two.

Noella Lee is a sophomore at OCSA, and she plays harp and piano. She was an Environmental Strand Captain for OCSA in the 2024-2025 season. This is her third year competing in SciOly, mainly focusing on environmental and identification events. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, playing project sekai (a rhythm game), reading books, and reconnecting with nature.

Kamille Le is a 9th grader currently attending OCSA and prefers to compete in biology or engineering events. She considers relaxing alongside her Labrador the paramount pastime, but she also takes thorough pleasure in baking, playing the piano, and simply being out & about.

Kelly Au is a freshman at UCLA and a former member of Northwood SciOly's executive board. She competed mainly in chemistry and biology events. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching TV shows and movies, and baking.

Stanley Suen

Josephine Idanawang is a freshman at UMich and is excited to be helping students learn through SciConnect! She has been competing in Science Olympiad for the past 7 years in many chemistry, earth science, and inquiry related events.

Stanley Suen is a freshman at UCLA. He was the 2025 Northwood Scioly Captain and also an assistant coach of Sierra Vista Middle School. He has also directed Division A Scioly at the regional and state level.

Ryan Jo is a freshman at Northwood High. He has been competing for Science Olympiad for now 4 years from Division A to now Division C and has accumulated over 100 medals. He competes primarily in build and inquiry events. Also, enjoys doing cross country and swim for his school.

Travis Osaki, a junior at Pearl City High School in Hawaii, has been involved in Science Olympiad for five years and has captained both Pearl City and previously Highlands since 2022. He competes in a variety of events, but really enjoys the biology events. When he's not studying for SciOly, you'll find him online playing Brawl Stars.

Ferris has enjoyed studying biology ever since starting Science Olympiad in middle school. Whether it is genetics, anatomy and physiology, or epidemiology, it all fascinates him. He hopes to spread his interest in biology to as many people possible.

Seojin Park is a sophomore at Troy High School. He has competed in Science Olympiad for 3 years and competes mainly in earth/space science and inquiry events. During his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and spending time with his bunny.

Joelle Cheeseman is a freshman at Stanford University and has been competing in Science Olympiad for six years. She is the head coach of the Santiago Hills Elementary School OC Gold Tier Division A Science Olympiad program, former team captain of Sierra Vista’s Science Olympiad program, and a current competitor in Division C, specializing in identification-based binder events. In her free time, you can find her serving on the tennis courts or playing candy crush with Leanna.

Xander Shah is a sophomore at Orange County School of the Arts for the harp. He captained for the environmental strand in OCSA Science Olympiad Division B Team in 2024-2025 season. In his free time he enjoys reading books, especially Asian fantasy and historical fiction novels and playing board/card games. During vacations, he enjoys collecting tree samples!
